Contributing to a significant increase in the usage of Game Payment Technology’s app-based cashless solution over the last month, the company’s pool table solution, TR-SLU, is now being rolled out to operators across the UK with stunning success.
The use of Game Payment Technology’s cashless app increased by 25 percent over the last month as its pool table solution made a flying start.
The payments company is confident that this will continue over the summer, especially as the new solution – the TR-SLU – is now being rolled-out nationwide, with almost 500 units to be installed on pool tables by the end of August.
The TR-SLU is a small, low cost hardware unit, designed specifically to provide a cost-effective cashless payment solution for pool tables. GPT has been delivering hundreds of these units to operators up and down the country over the last couple of months, with some hand delivered by GPT’s Raj Mistry, including to Paul Smith and Danielle Heath of Spin2Win.
“The TR-SLU is an ideal solution for our cashless payment option needs. It’s easy to install and use, and we expect it to become more and more popular over the next few weeks,” said Smith, managing director at Spin2Win. “For us, it is another step forward in preparing for the changing demographic and this solution will help us to continue to deliver the best possible products and services to our customers. Our company is going from strength to strength, and we continue to stay ahead of the curve. GPT enables us to achieve this.”
Another operator embracing the TR-SLU is Amusement Caterers who supply pool tables and other equipment to the University of Sheffield Students’ Union. Re-opening after the lockdown, the students union decided to adopt a totally cashless policy. Amusement Caterers noticed a significant drop in income once the rest of the venue went cashless and decided to look for a cashless solution for their pool tables.
“We quickly realised that the lack of cash on site meant we needed a cashless solution for our pool tables,” said Amusement Caterer’s Andrew Cater. “We studied all the various options and the quickest to be able to supply (and incidentally by far the cheapest) were GPT. Fitting the TR-SLUs was extremely quick and easy and there’s the added bonus of being able to monitor battery voltages as well. Since the installation, we have seen a steady uplift in takings overall, together with a week on week increase of app usage.”
The university has now closed for the summer, but Amusement Caterers are confident that when the students return in September use of the Game Payment app will continue to grow.
“The bonus credit offer seems to have encouraged sign-up as intended, and reliability has been faultless – no problems with that side of things whatsoever since installation,” continue Cater. “Both myself and the university are very happy with the outcome, and I am fitting more units to my machines, including AWPs as soon as I get a chance. Cashless is definitely the future and this solution has enabled Amusement Caterers to be there at the start of the inevitable transition in a simple and cost-effective way.
