Mellors Group is to provide hundreds of underprivileged children with free Fantasy Island passes this summer, through a partnership with local charity Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre.
The initiative, which runs until October, will see local children and their carers enjoy a day out at the seaside and the chance to enjoy the Ingoldmells attraction’s 30 rides without having to pay a penny.
“We are extremely proud to be partnering with such a well-respected charity,” said Mellors Group MD Edward Mellors. “The work they do throughout the Derbyshire community, to help those less privileged, is so important and we’re pleased to offer the children and their carers a free day at our theme park this year.”
The Holiday Centre, located on Skegness seafront, has provided holiday accommodation and activities for disadvantaged children across Derbyshire for more than 130 years.
The Scarborough Road site allows a beach break for families that may otherwise have been unable to afford it, as well as providing “help with their education and self-esteem.”
“We are so pleased and proud that Fantasy Island has enabled our children to enjoy a day out,” said Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre chair Alan Grimadell. “We wish every success to Fantasy Island.”
