HM Revenue and Customs is seeking feedback on its new guide on Machine Games Duty. The agency debuted the Machine Games Duty (MGD) Guide at the start of March.
“We launched this product at EAG on 2 March 2022, and it was welcomed with great enthusiasm,” stated. Sheree Wilson, excise tax specialist at HM Revenue and Customs. “We would also like to ensure that what we are delivering, is exactly what is required by the industry.”
HMRC now aims to gather feedback on the guide to enable the department to develop a better understanding of how it has helped those who have utilised it.
“The survey takes approximately one minute to complete as it is only five short questions, so not time consuming at all,” Wilson stated. “This will allow us to make any changes/amendments to the guide for maximum efficiency.”
Presented in a flow chart format, the guide asks new tenants who have gaming and quiz machines on their premises a range of questions and provides links to information on how to calculate MGD and make quarterly returns.
