Arcade Warehouse has opened the doors of its third UK venue; a brand new family friendly gaming arcade located in the Royal Quays Outlet Centre in North Shields.

The new site follows on from the success of recent openings in Lincoln and Scunthorpe, and features more than 60 classic video and arcade cabinets all set to free play.

“We had a soft launch party before fully opening up,” co-owner Caton Airey told The Chronicle. “It went well and the feedback was really good. We’ve got a range of driving games, football games, a basketball machine, dance machine, some favourites like Mario and Sonic Olympic Games, and virtual reality games, which are most popular.”

“The arcade has something for every age group. It’s just a great way to get the family out, all playing together.”

Airey opened the arcade with business partner Dan Rees, rolling out a system of two-hour pre-booked sessions that has proven successful at the pair’s two existing sites, as well as private party and hire packages.

The venue significantly enhances the leisure offering at Royal Quays, which also hosts Inflata Nation and Gutterball Alley, alongside My-G Gadgets Gizmos and Gaming, a tech hardware shop opened by Rees and Airey in February
