Back at Christmas Pleasureland Whitby launched a “holiday present giveaway” via social media to celebrate the festive season, with a prize bundle including a £50 TapTap games card.

The competition ran through to New Year’s Day when the result was announced on Facebook, with the winner receiving a 5kg CandyChops sweet bag and a party speaker alongside its TapTap card. But behind the prizes, the like/follow posts on the Pleasureland page, the social media shares and tagging lies a step into the future for the traditional amusement venues offering: cashless.

The TapTap card was first launched by Pleasureland in September, part of a cashless system installation by arcade-focused payment products firm Semnox.

And owner Mitch Tuby is excited at the development: “We had looked at various cashless solutions available in the market before we decided to go with Semnox and I feel confident that we made the right choice at the right time.”

But, the TapTap system is not the only addition to the Pleasureland amusements floor as it builds its operation for another staycation boom this year, the company has also installed Parafait Klassic kiosks.
