The founder of Tayto Park has confirmed the first ride to be built amid a E30m investment drive will be completed early next year, before work begins on a further two roller coasters.
Raymond Coyle stated the Dino Coaster will open in February 2022, with a 31 metre suspended thrill coaster and a 24.2 metre family boomerang ride opening in 2023.
“This is the largest single investment in our history,” Coyle told the Irish Times. “We currently employ 420 people and not only will the new coasters add employment to the local economy, they are securing the future of the park.”
The investment was first announced in June 2020, after the park received planning permission following a two-year battle with the local authority.
Construction on the Dino Coaster began earlier this year, with Coyle hailing 2021 as “a very good year,” noting both visitor and revenue numbers were “up on last year.”
