Recently appointed gambling minister Chris Philp is certainly getting to know stakeholders in the industry with the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the DCMS holding his second meeting with Bacta since his appointment two months ago.
Held on the eve of the association’s annual Convention, Philp welcomed a large Bacta delegation comprising CEO John White, President Greg Wood, Elizabeth Speed, General Counsel for Novomatic UK and Tony Boulton, Director of Public and Political Relations at MERKUR UK, to discuss the gambling review.
Representatives from the Bingo Association were also present at the meeting and took the Minister through the bingo sector’s asks for the Minister from the Gambling Review.
Commenting after the meeting, John White told Coinslot: “It is essential that we engage directly with the Minister about our asks from the Gambling Review and to build up a dialogue about who we are as an industry. We are very grateful to have had the opportunity to meet with Chris Philp for a second time and greatly encouraged that he is building a thorough understanding of the sector so quickly, despite coming to the role fairly recently. This meeting is perfectly timed, as we look forward to relaying information from our meeting to members tomorrow.”
