Hollywood Bowl has completed a £600,000 renovation of its Glasgow site, with the Springfield Quay venue adding six VIP lanes, new scoring system, and an updated amusement area.

The newly-expanded arcade now features leading titles such as Space Invaders, Mario Kart and Halo, with the bowling brand focused on giving its locations “much more variety.”

“It’s been a long time coming due to the challenges faced by the leisure industry caused by the pandemic, but thanks to our fantastic new refurbishment, we’ve been able to offer guests so much more variety as well as a completely new look,” said GM Emma Hastings.

“The centre is now fit for a Hollywood superstar and the response from guests so far has been amazing. We’re excited to continue offering our unique family entertainment to bowling fans across Glasgow.”

The investment, which also included a full renovation of the alley’s decor, was completed last month ahead of a VIP celebration last week, culminating in the traditional Hollywood Bowl reopening ceremony – a Marilyn Monroe lookalike cutting the ribbon.

Attending the event, the Glasgow Times noted the new additions now allow guests to enjoy “the real star treatment.”
