Southport Pier welcomed a group of mischievous elves this weekend in order to launch the festive season at the town’s largest family entertainment centre Silcock’s Funland.
The characters, from local children’s party entertainers Starkidz, visited the popular seafront venue to “start Christmas in style” for visitors and staff alike.
“The Starkidz elves are great at what they do,” operations manager Serena Silcock-Prince told Champion News. “We thought once Halloween is over, let’s start Christmas in style, and bring some Christmas cheer to Southport. It was great to see them get the ball rolling for us.”
“We have just put up our Christmas tree here at Funland. A lot of our staff have fun and dress up in festive style around this time of year. People missed out on so much last Christmas. We really want to make the most of it this year.”
The visit comes as Silcock’s lends its support to the efforts of the Southport BID to bring Christmas crowds into the town, with Silcock-Prince noting “there is so much going on.”
“The lights along Lord Street look beautiful. The sparkling Christmas tree in the Town Hall Gardens, which is due to go up soon, is lovely, it’s really different.”
“I always do all I can to support local shops, restaurants and other businesses in Southport, especially at Christmas.”
