Superbowl UK has officially opened its new Barnsley location, bringing 12-lanes of bowling, a SEGA Prize Zone amusement arcade, mini golf and Crazy Club Soft Play to the South Yorkshire town.
The leisure and entertainment venue was opened by the Mayor of Barnsley Caroline Makinson on 15 October, and forms the latest addition to the new £200m Glass Works development.
Barnsley Council spokesperson Tim Cheetham was excited at the arrival of bowling and amusements in the town stating: “Superbowl UK will expand the offer of Barnsley town centre even further – helping create an even busier, vibrant and more inviting destination.”
“Superbowl UK is a great addition to The Glass Works and will provide a fun place for families and friends to get together.”
The new location is Superbowl UK’s thirteenth venue, alongside Bishop Auckland, Norwich, Swansea, St Helens, Widnes, Hull, Macclesfield, Cardiff, Merthyr, Newport, Ipswich, and Warrington.
The Barnsley site is situated next to a new 13-screen Cineworld multiplex, TK Maxx, Next and Sports Direct, reinforcing leisure entertainment’s status as a retail offering on the high street.
To celebrate the latest opening, Superbowl UK gave the first 30 people into the venue an activity of their choice for free.
