Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service has launched an investigation into a fire that broke out at Harts Amusements in Bispham on the morning of 17 October.

The incident saw four engines directed to the arcade, located on the corner of Red Bank Road and Queen’s Promenade.

“Four fire engines from Blackpool, Bispham and South Shore were called to a commercial fire at a property on Red Bank Road, Blackpool,” reported the LFRS.

“Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the fire involving a window. No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.”

Though no information has been released as to the extent of the damage caused by the fire, the LFRS stated fire crews were called to attend the blaze at 10.27am, with the road around the arcade being cordoned off.

The incident comes at the end of a busy season for Harts Amusements, with the recent World Fireworks Championships significantly increasing footfall at the popular arcade.

Staff had also completed a full reorganisation of machines in order to make way for new stock last month, however no information has been forthcoming as to whether any cabinets have been affected by the fire.
