An unidentified robber made off with “a quantity of cash” from Sovereign Gaming in Fleetwood last week, after threatening staff and demanding money.

Though nobody was injured during the Friday evening raid on the Lord Street venue, both staff members were left “traumatised” by the encounter. “We were called around 8.10pm on Friday (8 October) to a report of a robbery in Fleetwood,” said a spokesperson for Lancashire Police. “It was reported a man had entered Sovereign Gaming in Lord Street and threatened staff before taking a quantity of cash.”

“No one was injured in the incident with the man making off from the scene. An investigation is underway and enquiries ongoing.”

Lord Street was closed off by police for an hour after the raid, however officers were unable to track the suspect, and are now appealing for witnesses.

Speaking on social media, manager Paula Gowen stated staff were “threatened and left traumatised by what had happened, so please, if anyone has any information – or even better a name – please can you come forward and let the police know.”

“Someone must know who did it.”

Anyone with information can contact police on 101 quoting log 1465 of 8 October.
