Headlined by a multi-level go-karting track and alternative reality bowling, FEC operator Gravity has launched a festival of entertainment in its new Southside location, with industry stalwart Matthew Deith providing the more traditional arcade experience via his FunBox entertainment centre.

Gravity Active Entertainment has launched a new FEC at Southside shopping centre in Wandsworth, London, debuting its multi-level gokarting track and its interactive bowling concepts in a UK high-street environment for the first time.

The 80,000 sq ft venue joins the operator’s portfolio of 16 sites in the UK, expanding on Gravity’s core offering of trampoline parks and also including a 10-hole crazy golf experience, alternative reality dart boards, a Japanese noodle restaurant, a dedicated esports centre and an arcade operated by industry figure Matthew Deith’s company, FunBox Entertainment. Gravity Southside will be family focused during the day, with live music and a high-end cocktail bar designed to attract a younger crowd from the evening through to closing time, offering an interactive experience for all.

And Deith’s expertise will deliver gravitas to the Gravity vision. “Wandsworth signals a new chapter for Gravity, as our biggest opening yet. Gravity is only 6 years old and we are pushing the boundaries of leisure entertainment in the UK with a model that is also commercially successful,” commented Harvey Jenkinson, co-Founder and CEO at Gravity. “We are using new technology to create immersive experiences in strategically important locations in the centre of towns and cities that will attract new customers, increase footfall for landlords and breathe life back into the high street, replacing traditional shopping with fun and entertainment. We want to be the UK’s leading leisure group for our customers, and for our partners, both our franchise partners and landlords.”

Southside’s joint owners, Landsec and Invesco Real Estate, have partnered with Gravity to redevelop the former Debenhams, as part of their strategy to redefine the destination’s offer and support the introduction of new and innovative concepts. While the multi-level go-karting and alternative reality bowling are getting their debut at Gravity Southside, the FunBox arcade is a staple of the Gravity FEC experience, featuring in the majority of its locations.

However, with its prime location and brand new attractions, Southside may quickly become Gravity’s flagship venue, with Deith predicting that London’s latest family attraction will be “an iconic” venue.
