An arcade manager was punched in the face by a drunk man in a racially aggravated attack in Weymouth, a court heard.

Nadar Bandari, who works as a manager for two arcades, The Sands Arcade and Royal Arcade Amusements, was asked for assistance by a member of staff from Rossi’s ice cream store next door, where the defendant was inside drunk. The defendant started to shout racial abuse before leaving, only to come back later that day into the Royal Arcade to repeat the offensive slur and punch Bandari on his upper lip. The court heard that the defendant then undid his trousers, exposed himself, and urinated on the Royal Hotel.

“I have lived in Weymouth for 16 years now and I have never had something like this happen to me before,” said Bandari.

The defendant pleaded guilty to charges of racially aggravated common assault and using racially aggravated language with intent to harass or distress. He was issued a community order for 18 months and ordered him to pay £200 compensation to the victim.
