Blackpool Pleasure Beach has been ranked fifth in the UK Theme Parks category of TripAdvisor’s Travellers Choice Awards 2020, beating the likes of the mighty Alton Towers in the table.
The Fylde coast attraction, which has received 6,700 “Excellent” reviews on the public rating website, also placed above Clifton Park and Dymchurch Amusement Park, as visitors recognised the quality of attractions on their doorstep.
“Travel in 2020 looked different, to say the least,” said TripAdvisor. “We stayed a little closer to home, hit the open road, took to the great outdoors, and saw our own hometowns in a new light.”
“Millions of travellers everywhere shared reviews and opinions based on those places and moments that left an impression.”
With an overall rating of four out of five stars, Blackpool Pleasure Beach was pipped to the top spot by Paultons Park, followed by The Milky Way Adventure Park, Adventure Island, and Sundown Adventureland.
The recognition comes as the Pleasure Beach celebrates its 125th anniversary, an event which will be marked this summer by firework displays and late-night rides.
“We’ve got an awesome lineup of shows and events like our incredible Late Night Riding and Fireworks events, a fabulous range of merchandise and of course, we have 2021 Season Passes offering amazing value, where you can experience the whole of the season,” said a spokesperson.
