As the government’s Coronavirus restrictions officially ended on 19 July, Bongo’s Bingo marked the occasion with a special full-capacity live event at Content in Liverpool.
The “one-off spectacular” represented the first full house for the madcap bingo brand in 16 months, and featured live DJs and celebrity guests alongside gameplay.
“We can’t quite believe it’s happening after all this time,” said co-founder Jonny Bingo before the event took place. “Being able to do the show how it was always intended is quite mind-blowing really. And to be able to open up again fully across the UK in all of the venues too, the length and breadth of the country is incredible.”
“We know how difficult it has been for everyone since last March. And we know many people have been desperate to be together again. So Monday, 19 July is a new beginning for us all, really. It is going to be bloody emotional.”
The event featured the brand’s trademark ravebingo entertainment, and included a special guest appearance from Barry Chuckle, with Bongo’s Bingo also donating £2 from every ticket to the mental health charity MIND.
The Liverpool event is just the first in an intensive return to business for Bongo’s, with an impressive 95 shows scheduled to take place across the length and breadth of the UK before 16 August.
