Following the closure of Northern Leisure in February this year, the ride manufacturer’s production manager and bodyshop supervisor have joined the team at MH Leisure.
Gareth Jones and Sean Tweed, who count 41 years of experience in the kiddy rides sector between them, will enhance the service offering of the Glasgow supplier.
“It’s great to have them on board,” said MH Leisure director Mike Harrison. “Having Gareth and Sean has allowed us to expand on the diversity of services we’re able to offer to other operators and customers.”
And MH have ambitions: “We believe we can help fill the gap within the kiddie ride industry, which has been left by the closure of Northern Leisure.”
As well as his role in the production of rides at Northern Leisure, Jones was also responsible for the design of the company’s rides, including Peppa Pig and Paw Patrol products.
The appointment of both men to the MH Leisure production team will allow the firm to increase its provision to include a range of refurbishment and design options.
Northern Leisure announced it had entered administration in late February, with acting agent Eddison listing the company’s 8,141 sq ft premises for sale, alongside 1,000 kiddie rides, moulds, designs and spare parts in March.
The West-Yorkshire company had been in operation for over 35 years, and had employed 20 people prior to lockdown.
