Amusement venues, casinos and arcades across Scarborough have expressed their hope for a busy summer ahead of reopening this week, stating “we’ve been counting down the days to reopening.”
With the Opera House Casino, Silver Dollar Amusements and Shaw’s Amusements opening on 17 May, alongside Grosvenor Casino Scarborough, operators are ready for what many hope will be a super season.
“We’re all very much looking forward to opening on Monday,” Rachel Walters, business services manager for the Opera House Casino, Silver Dollar Amusements and Shaw’s Amusements, told The Scarborough News. “This lockdown has been so hard on people in so many ways, especially with the cold winter months.”
“Everyone is excited to be getting back to work and to some normality and, after seeing only a few weeks of trading last year, we’re hoping for a busy season!”
Commenting ahead of this week, Grosvenor Casino Scarborough GM Hannah Hugill added “we’ve been counting down the days to reopening and every passing day has brought increased excitement.”
“It has been a challenging time for all our team members, but we can finally look forward to reuniting again and getting back to doing what we love – creating a unique atmosphere for guests to have fun, play their favourite casino games and enjoy quality time together.”
