The Miles for Smiles initiative enters its second week with the industry getting extremely physical. Steph Norbury provides the run-down.
We have reached a new ‘smilestone’ this week with 150 people signed up to log their exercise on www.milesforsmiles.uk
The bacta Facebook page has also attracted over 100 followers in its first week and our ‘smilers’ are posting their sweaty or frosty selfies depending on their locations!
Our top 10 individual smilers this week are as follows – with Barry Johnson of Parker’s Leisure in Rhyl proving to be unbeatable – and John Midgley of the BN(A)E Team – a new entry nipping at his heels.
The BN(A)E team clearly mean business- shooting to the top of the listings. Inspired are fielding 12 teams, so we would expect to see a strong performance – but team Inspired
R&D have kept a lead over their colleagues. It should be noted that Team Blueprint and Team Glanville only have 3 members so appearing in the top 10 is an extra achievement.
It’s not too late to join us in Miles for Smiles or to make a donation to our Justgiving Page at https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/bactamilesforsmiles. We would really like to be able to raise some more money for the Charitable Trust as well as getting the industry fitter for re-opening. A big thank you as well to Tony Glanville for keeping us all motivated.
