The operator of Alton Towers has expressed it “very much hopes” that the latest lockdown will lift as scheduled on 3 December, with its extensive Christmas events slated to begin the day after.
Santa Sleepovers, Santa’s Grotto and festive garden walks are all currently programmed to begin on 4 December, dependent on further government guidance.
“Further to the latest update from the UK Government on the response to the Coronavirus outbreak, Alton Towers Resort will be temporarily closing from 5 November until further notice,” said a spokesperson for the park.
“Whilst we very much hope to re-open on 3 December, we will await Government confirmation and post further updates on our website and social media.”
Santa Sleepovers – set to take place on the first weekend of December, and then from 11 and 23 of the month – feature festive meals, specially selected rides and a visit from Father Christmas at the Alton Towers hotel.
Santa’s Grotto and festive garden walks are also enduring yuletide favourites for visitors to the park.
After closing until further notice on 4 October, a spokesperson for the park added that any visitors with bookings up to 2 December will be given a voucher to use for 2021.
