Weston Pier has signed up as one of three local drop off points for the Every Child Needs Christmas toy donation appeal, promising to match each gift donated.

The pier will host a non-contact donation station at the front of the pier every day until 2 December, with all presents collected given to children in need across the region.

“Every child deserves to experience the magic of Christmas,” said a spokesperson for the pier. “This year, we’ll be partnering with Every Child Needs Christmas in helping Santa with a Christmas Toy Drop-Off, delivering gifts to children across North Somerset who may not have otherwise had a gift to unwrap on Christmas Day.”

“To spread the Christmas cheer even further, the Grand Pier will be matching every gift donated.”

Every Child Needs Christmas was founded in 2014, and last year was responsible for 12,200 gifts being delivered across the community.
