Following a long and illustrious career in the coin-operated gaming industry, Robert Higgins, latterly of Novomatic Gaming UK, is retiring after 45 years.

Higgins, who became an established member of the gaming fraternity during his many years at JPM, joined the company in 1975 as part of Ernie Beaver’s sales department in Cardiff.

Following many successful years at JPM, Higgins joined the sales team at Astra Games, more recently moving on to Novomatic Gaming UK.

Known to be a hugely valued member of the team at NGUK, Higgins presence will be greatly missed by his colleagues, who wrote: “Robs’ passion for the industry is unrivalled, for a number of years he was a very active member of the trade association BACTA, serving in an executive capacity.

“He is always a familiar and friendly face at the trade shows, always keen to take you on a tour around the latest products and offerings on display. Rob boasts many fond memories as he has watched the industry grow and evolve over the years.”

In addition to his time with BACTA, Rob has also been a board member and active supporter of a number of local charities and during his retirement plans to continue supporting these worthy causes, alongside his wife Karen.

Everyone at Novomatic and NGUK would like to wish Higgins all the best for his retirement, as he says, “it’s not a goodbye, it’s a see you later!”.
