Mitchell’s Amusements found itself close to the centre of a police operation on 7 September, as forensic teams and an ambulance descended on Trongate.
Police crews were seen cordoning off the alley next to the Glasgow arcade during the day, with the cause of the incident still unclear.
“Forensics cops and ambulance crews have swooped on an incident in Glasgow’s Trongate,” reported the Scottish Sun. “Pictures show officers at the scene with a police van and ambulance also in attendance.”
“Cops appeared to have sealed off an alley next to Mitchell’s Amusements.”
Though the paper stated that “Police Scotland have been contacted for comment,” the report added that “the nature of the incident is not yet known.”
Mitchell’s Amusements, and the alleyway in question, are part of the ground floor of the Britannia Panopticon, the city’s oldest surviving music hall.
