Lane7 has revealed its latest bowling and entertainment complex, located in the former Leicester Central Station, will open this October.
The 20,000 sq ft venue will host arcades, crazy golf, gaming tables, and a street food court alongside the lanes, as well as a cocktail bar, beer hall and event space.
“The two-floor venue will provide a family-friendly offer by day before transforming into the city’s ‘go to’ nightlife spot combining bowling with unique attractions such as mini-golf, darts, retro arcade games and pool tables,” said owner Tim Wilks.
The Great Central Street venue was originally scheduled to open Autumn 2019, however construction was delayed due to the size of the project, with the opening put back to early this year, before Coronavirus created a further delay.
“Timescales have obviously been affected but we can confirm we do still plan to open,” Lane7 told Leicestershire Live back in May, adding the site is “definitely going ahead.”
That confirmation came this week when the ambitious group targeted an October launch date.
The firm already operates Lane7 venues in Birmingham, Sheffield, Liverpool and Newcastle, with the new Leicester development bringing the city’s first permanent street food court.
The former Goods Yard area will be repurposed to accommodate the vendors, with shipping containers repurposed to house both kitchens and a number of the entertainment options.
