To celebrate its 20th anniversary, ThemeParks-UK has launched the UK Theme Park Awards, celebrating the best British attractions in over 20 categories.

A team of five judges will create shortlists for awards including Theme Park of the Year, Best Value, and Best Indoor Attraction, with the winner decided by public vote later this year.

“There are more than 40 theme parks in the UK, visited by millions of people every year,” said ThemeParks-UK editor Lawrence Roots. “It is about time that we recognise those offering the very best experiences.”

The shortlist for the UK Theme Park of the Year was the first to be released, nominating Alton Towers, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Chessington World of Adventures, Drayton Manor, Dreamland, Fantasy Island, Flamingo Land, Legoland, Paulton’s Park and Thorpe Park.

The judging panel includes BALPPA CEO Paul Kelly, Roller Coaster Club chair Andy Hine, European Coaster Club chair Paul Burton, and Blooloop MD Charles Read.
