The Arndale Centre is to become the second UK venue for Electronic Theatre, a digital gaming experience providing immersive team challenges.

First opened on London’s South Bank, the new 3,000 sq ft unit will offer Manchester customers team play in a series of interactive “Light Boxes.” ‘In an age where many people worry that technology is driving us apart, we wanted to use technology to build something to remind us how much we have in common,” said Electronic Theatre founders Will Dean and David Spindler.

“We set out to create a new type of group entertainment; an interactive and immersive platform that harnesses technology to create a fun, dynamic but most importantly, collaborative experience.”

Teams of up to six players are able to play 30 to 60-minute challenges in the Light Boxes, which feature projection mapping, touch screens, motion tracking, and surround sound technology.

“We built something that allows you to step into a game not just play it on a screen.”

Electronic Theatre’s new Manchester venue will be situated in the Arndale’s Halle Place food quarter, and joins the recently opened 14,000 sq ft Roxy Lanes bowling alley, created by Roxy Leisure.
