The DCMS minister responsible for gambling has written to all industry stakeholders asking for “feedback and insight” as to the kind of business support they might require.
Parliamentary under secretary for sport, tourism and heritage Nigel Huddleston said that it was his intention to “set out details of how the government is supporting the gambling and lotteries sectors,” with a special interest in “the land-based businesses which have been required to close.”
“During this challenging time, I recognise that the necessary actions we have taken asking people to stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives have caused disruption to businesses, jobs and the economy,” he wrote. “The Government will continue to work with business in these sectors through this time and as we move towards a recovery.”
The minister has put Susan Harling from his team in post as point of contact.
