A Lowestoft holiday park is housing “a community of heroes” during the pandemic, offering key workers free accommodation in the site’s caravans and cabins.

The Tingdene Broadlands Park and Marina on Oulton Broad has opened its doors to all NHS and emergency services staff working away from home or self-isolating in the area.

“We currently have a whole host of different workers staying with us – from paramedics and respiratory specialists to nurses and police officers,” park GM Greg Doggett told the Eastern Daily Press.

“It really is a small community of heroes staying here, and it is a pleasure to be able to look after and support them.”

Following Broadlands Park’s decision to accommodate key workers during the pandemic, local organisation Baking a Difference delivered cupcakes to staff and management.

The individually decorated cakes bear messages saying ‘Thank You,’ and ‘Stay Safe.’
