Jonathan Lacey (stage name Jonny Bongo) has won a high court battle over the rights to the Bongo’s Bingo brand.

Lacey first created the events when working at the Camp and Furnace venue in Liverpool, the management of which later claimed to have ownership of the Bongo’s Bingo brand as a result.

The High Court in Manchester eventually rejected these claims, judging that the name, and all rights to operate events under it were those of Shua ltd – the firm owned by Lacey and his colleague Josh Burke.

“The results came in and we won it. We won the lot – every single thing. The truth will set you free,” Lacey commented on social media.

“Thanks to everyone that had our backs from the very, very start, and to all the Bongo team for sticking with me and my co-creator Josh Burke. We did it.”
