Praesepe, part of the internationally renowned Gauselmann Group of companies, chose ICE London, the world’s largest gaming exhibition, as the platform to present a bumper cheque for £25,000 to its nominated charity partner the Bacta Charitable Trust.
The cheque which was presented by the senior team at Praesepe comprising CFO Börris Lüngen, CEO Stefan Bruns, and COO Mark Schertle, will be shared out among the four charities supported by bacta which comprise Rays of Sunshine, Teenage Cancer Trust, Great Ormond Street Hospital and Macmillan Cancer Support/ Royal Marsden. Last week’s donation is the second made by Praesepe in six months and follows the summer presentation which totalled £20,000.
Commenting on the donation, Mark Schertle stated: “The 165 venues that Praesepe operate in the UK are at the heart of the communities they serve and the Praesepe family has a proud tradition of supporting those who are in less fortunate circumstances. I have to say they are also extremely accomplished fund raisers and the fact that we have been able to donate £45,000 in a little over six months is testimony to their commitment, their compassion and their creativity. We are delighted to be working alongside our trade association and helping to support the wonderful work undertaken by bacta in support of its four highly deserving causes.”
Accepting the cheque, Bacta Charitable Trust President, Jimmy Thomas said: “This is a fantastic sum of money raised by the Praesepe team and their customers based throughout the country. It shows the depth of kindness and generosity which is at the heart of our industry and on behalf of the Trust I would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Mark and his colleagues for their support. Every penny donated will be shared amongst our chosen charities all of whom undertake such valuable and important work in the community.”
Since the Charitable Trust was launched Bacta members have raised in excess of £3.25 million for a wide range of good causes.
