Norman Cook and Graham McPherson , better known as Fatboy Slim and Suggs from Madness, have lavished praise on Margate as the pair prepare to headline the upcoming Hi-Tide festival.
Taking place 4-5 July at the town’s iconic Dreamland theme park, the event will be a high point of the summer for locals and visitors alike, commented Cook.
“This area of the country doesn’t get served that much by bigger events and I like the idea that all the locals will come out, and this will be a big event for them.”
Fatboy Slim will headline the festival on Saturday 4th, whilst Madness will take to the stage on the Sunday. The event features a mixed bill of acts, ensuring a local footfall boost as diverse as it will be plentiful.
McPherson commented that there is no better place to hold such an event than in Margate
“In our music we have lots of parallels really – we both want people to just have a good time, dance, sing and let yourself go – and what better place to do it than in Margate.”
