Mark Edmundson, GeWeTe’s Sales Manager UK and Ireland, is looking to build on what was a highly successful 2019 with a proven product portfolio that really delivers for the customer.

Coinslot: What are the highlights on your stand at January’s EAG?

Mark Edmundson: We are using this year’s EAG to unveil to the industry our Cash Center Deluxe, which is the latest in what is a rapidly expanding range from the GeWeTe stable. Key highlights include an impressive 24” touchscreen, a number of important operational features including a high security cabinet, the ability to change banknotes to coins and coins to banknotes, tickets in for banknotes, coins and tickets out, the ability to operate dedicated membership systems, cash handling for sports betting and now bank card to ticket options. As stand visitors will experience for themselves it is a really versatile and powerful piece of kit whose operational features are complemented by a very impressive and contemporary design with illuminated aluminium strips and illuminated ground plate. Our MARS TITO and Data Capture system will also be on show, with TITO now becoming more and more popular especially with the new feature of promotional tickets, plus the ability to purchase tickets via Debit card, MARS offers the complete package.

CS: How did trading fair during 2019 and what were your company’s stand-out moments?

ME: With the launch of the Cash Center Premium and Cash Recycler Premium in 2019 it was a very strong year for GeWeTe. The UK market is very strong for the GeWeTe brand with more and more operators seeing the benefits of having a secure, reliable and multi-functional cash handling system on site. Stand out moments have been our expansion into the casino sector, being part of a Gauselmann Group integrated project with an MSA operator as well as a significant increase in the number of MARS systems operating successfully in the field.

CS: Forecast: What will be your key areas of focus over the coming 12 months?

ME: Our focus continues to be offering operators choice with a range of models and options developed to fulfil their needs in one secure and reliable machine. With MARS this will allow operators to have tighter control on their operation, have access to real time information, plus TITO and all of its well documented and proven benefits.

CS: What are the key issues the industry needs to address in the coming year?

ME: From GeWeTe’s perspective we need to ensure that the use of Debit Cards is controlled and the correct Merchant code is used, particularly in relation to gaming operators: if, as an industry, we fail to recognise the importance of this there’s a great danger that we will lose the facility forever. Business: With the UK’s exit from the EU now determined, how will this affect your business processes and plans going forward? We have had plans in place for a long time now and increased our stock levels in the UK accordingly as such we do not envisage any issues going forward.
