Blackpool gamers have welcomed the arrival of Glitch Gaming Lounge, a brand new video gaming venue on Grosvenor Street, opened and run by local couple Lee and Amy Cannon.
A departure from the regulated video gaming centre genre, the two-room site offers a range of console and PC video game options, with a family-focused selection of games designed to “cater for all ages.”
“Lee has always had an idea of starting a business around gaming and this is our first venture together,” Amy Cannon told the Blackpool Gazette. “We both have other jobs but we are hoping to make this a success.”
“There is a relaxation area so people can get together and we have numerous game consoles – XBox One and PS4s and a lounge area which has family seats and sofas and a 55 inch screen for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation Virtual Reality experience.”
With the venue including a kitchen area and toilets, Glitch Gaming Lounge has already proved a popular destination for local gamers, whether as individuals or in groups.
“We cater for all ages between four and adult, and we do get a lot of adults asking to have parties here,” said Cannon.
“For the younger people it is a good place to be together while playing games instead of being alone at home.”
