FEC operators should be more than a little familiar with Pokémon by now: the cartoon, toy and video game franchise has been making waves amongst fans young and old since it first landed on European shores in the late 1990s, when it proved itself to be a top-selling brand in the plush redemption market.

And now, with the launch of two major new video game titles on the Nintendo Switch, London is set to become home to Europe’s first ever bespoke Pokémon Center.

The pop-up shop will establish temporary residence at Westfield London in Shepherd’s Bush between October 18 and November 15, chiming in with the dual release of Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield for Nintendo Switch.

The store will offer fans of the franchise all the latest in Pokémon gear, including exclusive products designed specifically for the site.

The Pokémon Company is remaining tight-lipped as to specific details of this special content, but has said that London was selected as the location of choice for it’s latest launch due to Britain having served as the inspiration for the setting of Sword and Shield – which takes place in the fictional, picturesque land of Galar.
