A new virtual reality gaming arena is the first of its kind in Cumbria: with VR Gateway having opened up shop in Carlisle’s city centre on June 15.
Site director Ian Irving has said that the new leisure addition to the city will present visitors with “a unique experience for gamers” which will pull in people from all over the county.
“There’s nothing else like it in Cumbria,” he told local rag the Cumberland News.
Meanwhile, to double-up on the diversity of offering, Irving has partnered his new VR attraction with local escape-room brand Red Herring, which has rehoused itself from its previous locale in Denton Holme to a city-centre unit right next door to VR Gateway.
Said Irving: “through this partnership, we are a location-based entertainment centre, which is one of a kind – not just for Carlisle but for the whole of Cumbria.”
