Staff from the Tir Prince Fun Park in Towyn, Wales, signed off 2018 by assisting councillors in a huge charitable donation to local food banks.
The amusements operator was joined by 15 councillors who, following a vote from Towyn and Kinmel Bay town council meeting, decided to donate their allowances to various charities across Christmas.
Four members of the council spent £200 on a trolley dash on behalf of the foodbank at Kinmel Bay Church – an amount to which staff from Tir Prince Fun Park added a further £250.
Deputy mayor Morris Jones said:“This was all in aid of goodwill, and shows how a business like Tir Prince Fun Park feels about its community. The church in St Asaph Avenue is always very grateful for any donations of food received for their food bank, there many families who will benefit from their help this Christmas. I’m very proud of both the town council and Tir Prince for all the goodwill they’re sharing with the less fortunate this Christmas.”
The allowances add up to a £2,900 total donation to good causes with Jones himself providing an additional £500 and town mayor Luke Knightly fronting £1,500.
