Skegness Pier has revealed it is to open a brand new escape room game attraction in the next couple of months.

It is thought that the new escape room game, dubbed ‘Carnival of Curiosities’, will be ready to accept players by Halloween in order to capitalise on its horror theme.

The new game will be part of the pier’s permanent Escape Skegness attraction, an escape room that locks up to 12 players in a room and gives them 60 minutes to solve a series of puzzles to secure their release.

It was opened last July, and its popularity has helped the pier maintain its Certificate of Excellence rating on travel review website TripAdvisor.

Speaking at its launch, Skegness Pier manager Steve Vardy said:“Live escape games are one of the hottest new things to do around Europe at the moment and we are delighted to

bring this brand new attraction to Skegness Pier, which is something completely new for both locals and tourists.

“It is the ideal activity for all sorts of groups, work, team building, hen dos, stag dos or even couples.

“We are hoping to make the games open to as many people as possible, with one being wheelchair accessible and suitable for children.”

The pier previewed the forthcoming game on its Facebook page last week, where a post read:“You’ve been captured and awoken within the Carnival of Curiosities.

“All around things are not quite what they seem. Do you and your team have what it takes to solve the puzzles, beat the challenges and win your freedom!?”

It was accompanied by an animated horror-themed video, which has already been viewed over 11,000 times.
