It has been 12 months since Vortex Gaming opened at Genting’s Resorts World – bringing immersive digital experiences and iconic gameplay to Birmingham with the help of Bandai Namco Amusement Europe and the Embed cashless system.

Vortex Gaming in Birmingham has reported that its first year of cashless operation has been a great success after working closely with Bandai Namco Amusement Europe and Embed to install its cashless system.

Not only has this improved security by reducing cash flow risk and man power, it has also helped Vortex to concentrate on delivering exceptional customer service. The system provides an overview of player activity, allowing the management team in Genting’s Resort World to track preferences in gameplay and prizes, helping to inform investment in their retail and machine offer. However, most importantly of all, the FEC’s players and staff have embraced the system – finding it reliable and easy to use.

“We are extremely pleased with the Embed redemption and cashless system – it streamlines operations in Vortex – allowing us to focus keenly on our customer service. Our staff do not have to spend time dealing with cash handling, and its associated problems such as machine downtime due to coin or note jams. Instead, we can use the data gathered by the system to provide our customers with more of what we know they enjoy – in terms of games and redemption prizes,” says Ian Bennett, operations director of Resorts World Birmingham.

“There is a learning curve in adopting a system such as this but BNAE and Embed have been there with us every step of the way,” says Wouter Kirstin, manager at Resorts World.“From installation and training through to updates and general support – the Management Solutions team has helped us to get the most out of the cashless and Redemption Pro systems to help us deliver a fantastic service to our customers.”

Steve Short, general manager of Bandai Namco Management Solutions, concluded: “It has been a great project from the very beginning in a high profile location and we have been proud to be part of it. The Vortex team as a whole have embraced and promoted the system extremely well since we introduced it to them through the pre-install training sessions right through to the present day. Through social media and in centre promotions, they engage with their customers daily which isn’t always possible in a traditional coin-op FEC.”
