FC Barcelona and leisure park operator to develop amusement chain

Leisure park operator Parques Reunidos and FC Barcelona have reached an agreement to develop a chain of entertainments centres dedicated to the club’s players and historical moments.

The deal will see five themed centres – taking up an average area of 5,000sq.m – developed over the next five years.

“This partnership represents an important milestone within Parques Reunidos’ growth strategy,” said FerBarcelona dealnando Eiroa, CEO of Parques Reunidos, “Our company is constantly seeking opportunities to expand and offer unforgettable experiences for the entire family.”

“Through these new centres, Parques Reunidos will be the first company to offer an innovative and thrilling entertainment and sports experience for all football lovers in Asia, the US and Europe in partnership with one of the best football teams in the world.”

The five entertainment centres are to be built in regions where the club is popular, with the first scheduled to open in the US and Asia in 2020.

“The agreement with Parques Reunidos will help us to project our image in strategic territories, offering our supporters a 100 per cent Barça experience, and at the same generating a major source of income,” said club vice president Manel Arroyo.

In addition to FC Barcelona, the leisure park operator has made similar deals with Nickelodeon, Discovery and Lionsgate and has developed an original brand, Atlantis Aquarium.
