The Irish Amusement Trade Association (IATA) has lodged an official complaint with the EU regarding the disproportionate application of Ireland’s current gaming laws.

The association believes the Irish government is in breach of recent European Court of Justice judgements in this area, and this complaint will be pursued to a conclusion.

President of IATA Jim Rickard and the general secretary John Roche stated they are pessimistic of the chances of seeing comprehensive gaming legislation in Ireland any time soon.

Rickard and Roche represented IATA at last week’s ICE expo.
