North Yorkshire theme park, Flamingo Land, has opened its latest high-octane ride experience, as the amusements destination looks to build upon positive summer performances.
The new motorsport attraction, Flamingo 1, features a 300-metre track, tight turns, and a central flyover for visitors to race self-drive karts around in three individual lanes.
While most of the track is outdoors, it passes through Flamingo Land’s new entertainment complex, The Hub, where spectators can watch the action from a dedicated viewing area.
The attraction also offers souvenir photographs of competitors, taken just before the race begins to ramp up secondary spend on site.
It marks the latest in a string of new experiences at the park and follows closely on the heels of the Peter Rabbit Adventure opened earlier this summer.
Situated just between York and the east coast, Flamingo Land recently broke into the top-five visited attractions in the UK, standing as testament to the continued popularity of amusement parks in the country.
The theme park, zoo and resort in Malton had 1.6 million visitors through its gates last year, making it the fourth most visited attraction in the UK in 2016.
