The Deccan Chronicle is reporting that a Los Angeles man has visited the Californian Disneyland Resort for a mammoth 2,000 days in a row.

Jeff Reitz, 44, has made his pilgrimage to the self-titled “The Happiest Place on Earth” every single day since 1 January 2012 which is an awful lot of happiness for one man to ingest, even in American sizes.

“I’ve gotten to experience so much of the magic of Disney that it continues to be fun for me, and that’s why I’ve still chosen to keep coming every day.”

The Air Force veteran often attends with his girlfriend, and her saint-like level of patience, but is undeterred by taking the trip solo if needs be to maintain the streak.

John McClintock, a spokesman for the theme park, has speculated as to why Reitz enjoys the park so much, but offers little in the way of concrete answers for the bewildering phenomenon.

“What we mostly know about him is that he loves Disneyland,” he said. “When I asked him what he likes about the park, he said he likes all the shows and all the attractions but he did mention that he really likes to listen to the music in the park,” he added. “I guess he finds it relaxing.”

Reitz doesn’t know how long he’ll keep making daily visits to the park but notes his current annual pass is good until next January.

“I’ve gotten to experience so much of the magic of Disney that it continues to be fun for me,” he said. “And that’s why I’ve still chosen to keep coming every day.”

It remains to be seen whether someone in the UK will ever replicate such a feat in one of the numerous theme parks available, or if Reitz will ever swap California for Cleethorpes, but we can hope.
