Britain’s bingo-cum-rave sensation Bongo’s Bingo is heading down under, fresh on the heels of spreading its unique offering across the UK.
A report in Time Out Sydney explained how the event, which is proud to be just about as far away from the classic pastime as possible, is pitched as a “chaotic and ironic version of the normally sedate game” and incorporates rave intervals, dancing on tables and pretty much letting loose.
By the end, organisers say players will leave asking: “Is it a show? Is it a rave? Is it a club? Is it actually even Bingo?”
Such seeming bewilderment aside, the move to Australia, which follows on from its international debut in Dubai, will see the event’s aptly named co-founder, Johnny Bongo, making a special appearance to call out the numbers, and play music as well as incite the sort of revelry worth putting a daub pen down for.
