Proposals to transform the former Dunluce Centre in Portrush into a vast family entertainment venue have been unveiled.
Proposals to the tune of £9m were debuted at a public event hosted by Belfast-based consultancy MBA Planning, with an idea to get feedback from those in the locality.
The plans include the remodelling, refurbishment and extension of the centre in order to create additional indoor recreation areas, which would comprise a surf centre, wet play area, trampoline park, and an ancillary restaurant and public bar.
The building was once a major tourist draw in Northern Ireland, but declining visitor numbers forced the venue to close its doors permanently in 2013.
In a statement issued on behalf of their client, MBA Planning stressed it is a work in progress: “The prospective applicant is keen to hear the views of the local community on the scheme’s evolution to date.”
