This year’s instalment of Crown Leisure’s Northern Showcase is set to land at Wellington Park, Burlington Gardens, Leyland, Lancashire, for two days of networking and machine showcasing on 3-4 May.
Northern in title, but not exclusive in scope, Crown’s annual event will draw visitors from Scotland to the south coast, with operators earmarking it as an important step along the road to summer season readiness, as seasonal operators buoyed by Easter trade and will arrive in Leyland with a firm forward focus.
Previous iterations have been noted as much about putting a date in the diary that people can use as a networking event and meeting point as they are about sales of units.
Although drawing an impressive, far-reaching crowd, Crown’s Northern Showcase is still at heart a regional affair, offering a timely alternative to sprawling trade shows in the capital that may not be the best fit for some smaller operators’ needs.
The smaller scale of the event offers visitors and exhibitors something the larger shows are less able to: a manageable scale set in an intimate and informal atmosphere.
Such size offers the chance for smaller scale operators the chance to try and purchase units without a pressure to bulk buy, and take full advantage of refurbishment services that are simply not available at bigger shows.
