BALPPA is set to run two seminars in May and June to give operators the skills and confidence to deal with crisis management.

BALPPA will be running two crisis management events to give site operators advice on how to deal with a potential situation at their attraction, before social media can impact their reputation.

Each seminar will be one day long, the first one taking place on 10 May at Paultons Park and the second taking place on 13 June at West Midlands Safari Park.

These seminars are designed to help site operators plan for a crisis by identifying the potential for risks in their attraction and give them the skills and confidence to respond quickly and effectively should anything bad happen. Site operators will receive instruction on how to prepare for a crisis, what to do when one occurs, how to communicate in a crisis, and, bearing in mind the advent of mobile phones and social media, they will also receive media training.

The seminar will not only go over the theory of a disaster, but will also give operators the opportunity to implement the skills and practise what they have learnt.

The numbers are restricted to 16 delegates per day and attendance will cost £225. Spaces will be offered on a first come, first serve basis on the BALPPA website.
