An empty dance studio is set to become the latest Rio Majestic arcade following proposed planning application in Canvey.
Rio Majestic has submitted an application to Castle Point Council to turn an empty dance studio into an arcade for their Rio Bingo branch in Furtherwick Road, Canvey.
The planning documents reveal that Rio Bingo would refurbish the inside of their building to make space for an arcade and a new back entrance.
With the enhanced space, Rio Bingo would install 37 arcade machines in the back room in addition to the 11 arcade machines in the room in the front of the building.
John Spivey, of Fisch Design, said: “The proposed existing unoccupied rear, previous dance studio, is to be utilised as an extension to the club’s currently small arcade machines facility.
“Additional arcade gaming space is required to meet customer demand and the rear building will function as the new arcade gaming space, eliminating noise away from the main hall where a quite environment is required for bingo users.”
The refurbishing of Rio Bingo is aimed at creating brand continuity with all the Majestic Bingo clubs, so the premises must be updated to meet the current specifications.
Further refurbishments will include a new bar with seating in the arcade area and better access for disabled visitors on the new entrance.
