Alton Towers has designed bespoke mobile media units to entertain children at the Royal Stoke University Hospital.
The theme park’s Merlin Magic Making team has created two stylish pods which contain games, TVs, crafts and other activities.
Consultant paediatrician Melissa Hubbard said: “Some of the children are unable to access the playroom due to illness and the units will help ensure they don’t miss out as they can be taken to the patient’s bedside.”
The units were made by the Merlin Magic Making team, which create attractions for Merlin’s tourist sites.
Sandra Hazel, head of Merlin’s Magic Wand, added: “We are delighted to be providing further help and continue our support of the University Hospitals of North Midlands and the Magic Making team have enjoyed working on such a special project.”
Every year Alton Towers raises cash for Merlin’s Magic Wand which provides unforgettable experiences for disadvantaged children across the world. The charity had previously refurbished two rooms at Royal Stoke to create a playroom and relaxation area.
