After working closely with the Royal Mint, Astrosystems is well prepared to support their customers through the currency changes that 2017 will bring. And heading the roll-call will be the Microcoin SP, the industry leader, which already has the new UK coin refiguration.

Astrosystems will once again be exhibiting at EAG at Excel, London 2017, an exhibition that provides an unmissable opportunity to showcase the range of Microcoin and Global Bill Acceptor (GBA) products, and for the staff at Astrosystems to meet and greet customers both old and new.

On display will be the Microcoin SP coin validator, which has proved itself as a highly successful product, particularly in the UK, where it is the default coin mech for the pool table industry. There is also an increasing presence in the jukebox and kiddy ride markets. The extremely impressive levels of reliability from the SP, together with a unique jam release mechanism, have made this a very attractive product to operators and service technicians alike. Additional features include a unique bonus credit system, and remote downloading of firmware and software. As a further optional extra, the SP can also be fitted with a stylish SP 115mm faceplate which offers a blue illuminated coin slot.

Astrosystems Ltd have been working with The Royal Mint for several months, in order to prepare for the introduction of the new 12 sided £1 coin which is due to be launched in early 2017. In order to support their customers, Astrosystems Ltd have already prepared the latest config for the Microcoin SP and QL coin mechanisms, which covers the full UK coin set, including the existing and the new £1 coin.

The config is available free of charge, and for those needing assistance with the upgrade, there is a small fee for re-programming any units at the Repairs and Service Centre.

To complement the Microcoin products, the Global Bill Acceptors range of note validation products will also be on display at both exhibitions. Particular focus will be given to the GBA ST2 stackerless banknote reader, which has been particularly successful in the challenging European gaming and amusement markets. Ease of servicing, along with impressive levels of reliability, have been the key contributing factors. Software and firmware can be downloaded by use of a USB stick, or via ccTalk and RS232 interfaces, which further enhances the simplicity of operation.

The full range of note and coin validation solutions which are available from AstroSystems Ltd, and key distributors, are supported by comprehensive customer software packages, and are backed by excellent technical and after sales expertise.
