National operator Gamestec, part of Novomatic UK, has collaborated with sales firm Electrocoin to add a fresh new look to a South Wales bowling centre.

The Superbowl UK site at Merthyr Tydfil now boasts a bright and boldly themed pinball area complete with a suite of Stern pintables set against a retro urban backdrop replete with faux graffiti wall.

Senior product manager Stefan Podolanski explained more about the development, saying: “We have purchased a number of new pintables from Electrocoin and we decided that they would benefit greatly from a themed approach. For the Merthyr Superbowl we settled on a ‘graffiti’ style look and feel. The intention was to create an area that is fun and retro that people old and young can engage with. The end result is stunning and adds a vibrant new dimension to the site.”

The Superbowl UK Merthyr site is one of the six nationwide Superbowl locations, which provide plenty of fertile ground for coin-op machines.

Podolanski confirmed that Electrocoin, the UK distributor and after sale technical service for Stern, will be supporting the initiative. He added: “We’re delighted with this first installation and we are now looking to extend the concept out into the wider leisure sector and, quite possibly, pubs.”
